Framed Glass Shower Enclosures

Framed glass shower doors have been a fixture in bathrooms for decades. Mainly made out of lightweight but durable aluminum framing, which is incapable of rusting like steel, these glass shower doors are extremely affordable and long lasting. Framed glass shower enclosures (sometimes referred to as semi-frameless glass enclosures depending on the model) come in a variety of configurations, shower hardware finishes and glass types but though they do have less design flexibility than heavy frameless glass showers.

One of the most popular configurations involves a swinging glass shower door, often with a small fixed glass shower panel adjacent to it or even a return glass panel. These units are made up of much thinner glass than frameless glass units, normally 3/16” or 1/4” thick glass. A second popular configuration is a sliding glass shower door unit, sometimes called a bypass shower enclosure. These units normally have two panels of 3/16” or 1/4” glass that roll in a track on wheels and are also normally available in Chrome, Brushed Nickel and Oil Rubbed Bronze shower hardware. These are very popular showers to use with basic fiberglass tub enclosures. We would go so far as to say these are the most popular glass shower doors in Santa Clarita for fiberglass bathtubs!
